Jomsom & Muktinath Trekking

Trekking Guide Team Adventure arranges Jomsom Muktinath trekking, one of the famous trekking path in Annapurna region which offer striking Himalayan views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Nilgiri (7040m), Mt. Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Mt. Annapurna south (7219m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt. Machhapuchhre 6998m and more.

You will leave Kathmandu early in the morning and drive to Pokhara and from Pokhara we will take flight to Jomsom passing all the way via witnessing the stunning views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna and we will visit the popular Muktinath temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu which is sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist and walk around to observe culture, way of life, rituals of different ethnic people. We will trek down the natural hot spring, Tatopani and spot the fantastic sunrise view from Poon Hill. After that, we will trek down to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara.

The 13 days Jomsom and Muktinath easy to moderate trek in Mustang region includes the visit to the world’s deepest ravine of the Kali-Gandaki River. The trek will take you to the maximum altitude of 3710m. Another highlight of the trek is you will explore caves, old monastery and picturesque beauties. And walking around almost desolate landscape, a vertical rocky path and stupendous views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and several other peaks will stun you.

  • Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu Airport. Transfer to Hotel.

    After you arrive at Kathmandu Airport, the representative from our agency will welcome you at the airport and shift you to a hotel. Later we will give short briefing of the voyage which is followed by a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese kitchen.

  • Day 02: Drive to Pokhara by Tourist bus. Over night at Pokhara.

    After our breakfast, we will drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara by a tourist bus where we can have sight of some wonderful scene of river and countryside throughout our drive. After we arrive at Pokhara, with some refreshment, sightseeing tour to places like Davi’s fall, Gupteshore cave, famous Fewa Lake boating and others will be done. We shall be staying overnight in a hotel.

  • Day 03: Fly To Jomsom Trek to Kagbeni (2800m) 5hr. Over night at tea house.

    Early in the morning, you will take a 3 hours flight from Pokhara to reach Jomsom and start trekking to Kagbeni. Today we will walk to Kagbeni (2800m), our checkpoint for the entry to Upper Mustang. It will take around 5 hours. Overnight at tea house.

  • Day 04: Trek to Muktinath (3800m) 5hr. Over night at tea house.

    Today, we climb abruptly to 3880m from Kagbeni to Muktinath taking 5 hours. Muktinath is considered as one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for Hindus and a home for Buddhists and Tibetan ethnic groups. This place is well known for sacred water flowing from 108 carved spouts that surrounds Bishnu Temple in an orchard of poplars. Overnight at tea house.

  • Day 05: Trek to Jomsom (2700m) 5hr. Over night at tea house.

    Departing from Muktinath we will trek back to Jomsom taking 5 hours. Overnight at tea house

  • Day 06: Trek to Kalopani (2530m) 5hr. Over night at tea house.

    We drive through the beautiful rural community of overwhelmed houses and abundant grasslands. Following the Kaligandaki River, we arrive at the old trading centre of Thakali people called Tukuche. We can observe the Himalayan rain dusk, coniferous forests and reach Kalopani (2560m). Overnight at tea house.

  • Day 07: Trek to Tatopani (1190m) 5hr. Over night at tea house.

    Today, our walk continues from Kalopani to Tatopani (1190m) which literally mean hot spring that provide a perfect chance for a relaxing bathe. It takes around 5 hours to reach Tatopani. Overnight at tea house.

  • Day 08: Trek to Shikha (1935m) 5hr. Over night at tea house.

    On this day we will trek to Shikha that lies at an elevation of 1935m leaving Tatopani. It takes around 5 hours. Overnight at tea house.

  • Day 09: Trek to Ghorepani (2860m) 5hr. Over night at tea house.

    Early morning, we start our walk to Ghorepani (2840m) steadily hiking the entire day; we eventually walk through the terraced pastures and dense rhododendron forest to Ghorepani village. We arrange our camp at the pass, for the best panorama of sundown over the stunning, hoary Annapurna Range and Mt. Dhaulagiri. Overnight at tea house.

  • Day 10: Early in the morning, hiking up to Poon Hill see the Sun Rise View and back to the hill (1430m) 6hr. Over night at tea house.

    Today is the most remarkable day of our entire trek. We begin our trip hiking to Poon Hill (3210m) which lets us to view wonderful vista of sunrise over the snow-capped mountains. Annapurna South (7119m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri south, Annapurna I (8091m), Fishtail (6993m) and many more peaks can be seen from here. Subsequently, we descend to Ghorepani and continue our walk to Tadapani for 6 hours. Trek leads mostly up and down hill all the way through the forest. Overnight at tea house.

  • Day 11: Trek to Nayapul & drive to Pokhara. Over night at Pokhara.

    Today, our trek tumbles down for around 4 hours to Nayapul through the refined meadows in Modi khola valley. We walk downhill through green cultivated picturesque, beautifully preserved farms to the scamper Modi River, and back to Naya pul. Later we will drive back to Pokhara and stay overnight at hotel.

  • Day 12: Drive to Kathmandu by tourist bus & over night at Kathmandu.

    After a tiring trip, we will drive back to Kathmandu which will take about 6 hours by a tourist bus. Today you can either relax in your hotel or go for some shopping. Later you can even explore around the city and overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 13: Final Departure.

    After breakfast, you will depart from Nepal to your next destination or your country.
